Abstract：
Dr. Adrian M. Hsieh, Director – Charm United Clinic, Taipei, Taiwan Dr. Stanley Y. Liu, Assistant Professor – Stanford Medical School, Stanford, CA, USA The challenge with facial skeletal surgery is balancing Bite, Breathing, and Beauty. Orthognathic Surgery to restore occlusion, the Bite, has defined Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery since landmark introductions by Obwegeser and Bell. Surgeons have since extended concepts of orthognathic surgery to address patient concerns for facial esthetics, the Beauty; and obstructive sleep apnea, the Breathing. Dr. Hsieh will discuss his experience with facial esthetic surgery and its implication to the airway. Dr. Liu will discuss his Stanford sleep surgical experience with consideration of facial esthetics. They hope to offer insights and inspiration for fellow surgeons to collectively solve this challenge.
